I'm trying to figure out which one to rank higher for TMDSAS. Dell has amazing step scores and an exciting curriculum, but it seems like it may be too stressful with shortened preclinical years and 20 hrs/wk of mandatory classes. They offer very little time off as well (only 2 wks between 1st and 2nd yr). Everyone was extremely happy at Dell though. Long is very relaxed but still offers a solid education. I like how the class is bigger so I'm more likely to find people who have similar interests as me. I can also watch lectures at home.
Any insight would be appreciated!

One thing to consider is the alumni network you will have. Obviously Long has substantial alumni in the workplace already, particularly in TX, whereas Dell does not (and won't for many years to come).

Coming out of four years of med school with a 249 step score (dell median) AND an mph or mba from a really good ut college seems like too good of a deal to pass up imo

Step score for Dell is n=1 but I loved the schools uniqueness + Interview day was fun. I personally would choose long because vibe was great, people there were SO friendly, students seemed to be having fun and you can do anything going there. Do this exercise... after reading this say which school immediately, choose 1 medical school you want to go to between these immediately, that’s the school.

I agree with thegrind33...Dell is going to be a top medical school in a short time- rivaling UTSW in Texas. They recruited the best from across the country to start/run the school, they have the power/prestige of UT Austin behind them, and lots and lots of money. Not to mention amazing new facilities too!

Also, the possibility of gaining an MBA from McCombs is stellar. As for the network, you get to be a part of the Longhorn alum base. I mean, that is much stronger than anything Long can offer.
