Denial but is there hope?...

So, I received a denial letter from Wayne State University, I was waistlisted and then received a letter that went like this:
“I am sorry to inform you that our Physical Therapy class is full and we will not be admitting you off of the wait list this year. I know that this is disappointing news, and I hope that perhaps you were admitted to another PT program. If not, please reapply to us for next year.

Good luck with everything!”

Now I may be reaching here but that last line is giving some hope that I may be considered once more with a better chance of acceptance. Prior to receiving this email I got another email, about 45 minutes before, inviting me for an interview for the 2019 Fall Semester.

Do you think I’m reaching on that last line? Or does it look like a generic denial letter?

Just to clarify, you applied for this current cycle and then got the "denail" email in addition to an interview invitation?

The email of denial was for last years cycle (2018) with the “please reapply to WSU” and then I received an email for an interview for this years cycle (2019)

I'm confused if you received an email inviting you for an interview for 2019 what is the question? To answer the original question tho it looks like a generic denial letter because in most cases every school with value your reapplication above those who its their first time applying to a specific school. Just make sure to answer the PTCAS question of "have you applied to this school before and what have you done to improve your application".
