Hey, I have a question about applying to schools..I have a BA, and am going back to school to school to get some pre-reqs for dental school..my question is: Do you have to have all of the prereqs finished before you can even apply..or is it ok to still have a couple of courses pending..? I would like to enter in Fall 2006, but in fall 05 I would likely still be taking my second O-Chem, and maybe a BioChem (if needed).

Also, do you think I would find the DAT difficult if I had not finished my second O-Chem yet? (i.e. taking the DAT in Fall 05 so as to begin Dental School in Fall 2006?

you can apply before you have all the classes but you have to have them completed before D-school starts.

If you dont have organic chem you should take a kaplan course and learn the stuff from there..

Hey Kilograham,

That's a cute name! Uhhhh, the organic covered on the DAT was mainly from my first semester of the course. A few of the synthesis might have been from the second semester, but they aren't hard to learn or very many questions. I'd try applying before finishing prerequisites. If you take the DAT soon after first semester of O-chem then you might not have to do too much reviewing if you really keep on top of your studies in the class. Good luck!
