Hi! I'm an international pre-dent student! I am looking to learn more about the dental insurance, health care system, and current issues in dentistry in the US. Are there any resources/website you could recommend? Thanks in advance!!

Search for “ dental insurance 101” a fair amount of information is available from the insurance carriers perspective. Then start perusing the forums on dentaltown to get a providers perspective, also become familiar with the abbreviations hmo, ppo and ffs as each have their unique issues when it comes to dental insurance.

We cover this in Becoming a Student Doctor, with more focus on the issues of access and equity. But we discuss a bit about private practice vs hospital. A lot of our resources are applicable interprofessionally.
