Aside from shadowing and getting an internship, what are other ways that I can show that I have a true passion for dentistry? (I am trying to get into a competitive accelerated direct entry dental program)
Do the public health type things. There is a group in North Carolina that goes around with a free public clinic in different counties once a month. I am trying to get involved with it right now.
That's the only other dental related thing I can think of besides shadowing and internship...Maybe try and get involved with or start a pre-dental club at the college you are going to go to.
Well I plan on applying for competitive programs as a highschooler. Starting a pre-dental/pre-medical club @ school....... lol........ maybe....... I never thought I'd consider such an extreme idea... but maybe...
Take a pottery class, that actually looks great on your application. Shadow a variety of specialists. In highschool it's hard to find research oppurtunities, but it's something to look into. Remember, it's not like everyone applying for these seats have already pulled in a Nobel prize or two before Senior year.
