Hey guys, I'm a premed and I usually post in pre-allo but recently I've been thinking about dentistry and I wanted to ask a few questions.
I've been doing generic pre-med extracurriculars: volunteering at a hospital (not dental related) and undergrad research and things like that. If I was to go dent, would these be worth anything? I don't know any pre-dents that volunteer, though there are probably a few that do research in undergrad.
So after accumulating countless hours in these activities, would they be used in admissions at all? I've been looking around and it seems that dental schools don't put as much of an emphasis on extracurriculars as med schools do.
Also, how is the DAT different from the MCAT? Only big difference I see is that physical sciences is replaced by math in the DAT.
Thanks 😀
