Hi,

I have a DDS degree from an American university. However, I am on an H4 visa. In order for me to work in US I have to find an employer willing to sponsor by H1B visa.

I was wondering if anyone knows of such employers? I am looking for employment in the Northern California area. I know that Western Dental sponsors H1B visa, but are there any other employers (private practice or corporate)?

Thanks,
Radia

128 views and not a single reply! There surely will be someone who knows which employers sponsor H1B visas for Dentists? If not private employers there might be Corporate Dental offices that do, right?

I'll really appreciate any help in this regard. I just want to know the names of such employers.

Thanks,
Radia

i can suggest you to look up the names of all the dental offices in your area in yellow pages or some other directory, call them up, set up meetings, explain your case and see what response you get. I am sure it will help you reach out more dentists in your area, and it might be a business oppurtunity for some US dentists, its a mutual benefit.
good luck!

Western dental is experienced in sponsoring H1b for dentists. Rest of the guys doesn't know what the heck is H1b and its quota system. I never seen any advt saying we are ready to sponsor H1B. Rarely or you will never see such advertisements. that's something you need to negotiate with them and explain that it is not as difficult process as they think. There are so many dentists in CA on H1b. so I dont think it is really that difficult to find someone.
You can search on the job sites for dentist vacancies. Contact them. you have good chances as you have american DDS. Hurry up, H1B quota opens tomorrow and will be over soon (probably in May).
As a last resort you can chose western dental, if you cannot find any one who sponsors you H1B. I wonder why you are not inclining towards western dental. The only minor problems I have seen with them is, they are asking for 3 year contract, they will assign you to an office wherever vacancy exists and not necessarily where you wanted to be. But they are paying reasonably good (96,000 per annum) and do premium processing for H1b.

The 3 year contract seems too much. More than that would be assignment to wherever vacancy exists.

Are there any other coporate Dental practices -- I mean other than Western Dental?

Can DDS students apply under the 20000 H1 quota for US graduates

Yes, as DDS/DMD, you can apply for graduate division of H1B. I heard that this year the 60000 quota (maybe 20000 graduate too?) get filled up the first day it opens (April 1st) and they will only take 50% of application that arrived on April 2nd - 3rd. I just wonder, can we send the H1B application before April to make sure it will arrive before the first day it opens ?

If they receive it before April 1st (this year it is April 2nd, as 1st is Sunday), they will simply return the application.
This is really a bad news. now getting H1b will be like a lottery. next year it may become even worse, if they dont increase the quota.
US graduate quota is not yet filled.

Is this applicable to students who took Restortaive Technique examination and then took California Licensure too?
Please let me know?
Thank you!

you are getting US dental license and not US degree. so,they are not considered as US graduates and need to apply under "regular" H1b quota.

In order start working u need H1 b visa, but if this is the scenario, like what happened this yr, for the 85000 in the first day itself they had 150000 applicants n then stopped taking application the next day what after u graduate, do we have to go back to our home. :scared:
I know even the 20000 quoto for us gradute n advance degree stopped taking application the very next day. What do we do if we dont get to work.

I wish to know if a person with advanced certificates- 1 year GPR and 2 years Pediatric dentistry, but no MS would be eligible for the Masters/ graduate quota fpr this years H1 B. Please let me know asap, anyone who has this information. I would really appreciate it. I have spoken to about 4 lawyers and no one has a clear answer.

Hi all, I won't be taking my exam until June and what was said is correct, then, there will not be a possibility for me to get a job before the end of the year, right? Is there any other temporary visa that I could apply? My husband comes here to work on an TN visa, can I apply for something like this too? Thanks!
