Hey,

I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I was wondering if these schools had higher out-of-state % acceptance: Case Western, Tufts, FlU, and OSU. I know Tufts is private so they don't take preference to MA residents, but what about the others?

I am in TX and I was looking to apply to a few out of state schools. Are there any other ones I should look into? Any that are "easier" to get into?

Thanks!

Well, when I say easy to get into I mean schools that accept more than a small % of out of state students. Thanks for the info. 👍

The numbers don't lie. Research your schools before applying. It could make the difference between acceptance or rejection.

See attached stat sheet.

This sheet is money, thanks billermo

The info is readily available from a book published by the ADEA. I think it's called "The student's guide to dental schools". It's a great book with valuable info. Check your library....most colleges have it. It explains the application process, interviews, financial aid, etc.

I can only take credit for posting it on this thread. The file was created by someone else on this forum.

Hope it helps you as much as it did me.

Yeah, it helps. Thanks!

What's with Howard University? Mean DAT and GPA are sig. lower than others?

Not sure if the attached adobe file has accurate data:

For example, it gives the following numbers for UCSF:
AA = 20.68, PAT = 18.36, Overall GPA = 3.59, Sci. GPA = 3.51

According to UCSF the correct numbers are (2004-2005):
http://dentistry.ucsf.edu/admissions/admiss_program1-stats.html

AA:20.3, PAT:18.0, Overall GPA = 3.46, Science GPA: 3.40

I go to Oklahoma. Last year we had a new dean of admissions. He accepted a lot of out of state students in my class (I think about 20%). I think all that really matters for OU is your DAT score. If it is good you get in.

The UCSF stats posted on their site are "preliminary" stats for the 2005-2006 class. The attached PDF includes numbers printed by the ADEA for 2004-2005 entering class. Although I did not confirm all the stats, the Marquette numbers match.

I did not create the form but I think it's legit. It's been posted on a previous thread.

It says "2005 UCSF DENTAL ADMISSIONS STATISTICS (as of September 20, 2005)" The UCSF site definitely shows the most accurate stats for 2004-2005. For 2005-2006, UCSF started interviewing applicants late October. Please read everything on that site again:
