Hey there SDN,

I have a question,
I was wondering when you are applying, on the application form, there is a section where you include all your volunteer/shadowing/research experience and thus number of hrs

I'm wondering do we need some kind of proof of hrs or just write down the address, phone number, supervisor's name etc,

Because for some of my volunteer work, I don't have proof.
IF all you need is the address or something, how do adcom know if you actually volunteered at that place?

I have a friend who said he's just gonna bs some volunteer work and at first i said good luck with that cause you're gonna get caught and get screwed but then again how can adcom find out?

Thanks!

You do not need proof of any kind, you don't even need to put down address, phone, etc, just name of the organization.

The adcom will not know if what you wrote is true or not, the most they'll do is ask you about it during an interview (they did for me). It's theoretically possible they could do some research and see if the organization exists and such, but unlikely that they'll act like a detective and try to figure out if you were really there at the times you wrote down.

So don't stress it, just write down what you honestly did and you'll be fine, don't worry about proving anything, just be ready to discuss your activities.
