Hello everyone, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but for the past three years i've been busting my butt to try and get into dental school. I have a great G.P.A. (3.93 overall and 3.85 science) but my only concern is my DAT score (20 AA 19 PAT). Unfortunately, my AA was a 20.4 🙁. Being from New York, I would love to go to Columbia but the only thing that might be holding me back are my DAT scores. With my current, stats what do you think my chances are? Should I re-take the DAT to possibly score higher? Thanks.

dont retake, what is the breakdown of ur DAT? what is ur TS?

TS 20
AA 20

dont retake and risk getting a lower score, I am not too familiar with Columbia, but I know they value a HIGH DAT score.

What is the minimum DAT score of an incoming student at CDM?
We have no minimum or cut-off scores. The mean DAT score of the class entering in 2010 is 22, (the national average is roughly 17), however the range varies from year to year.

You should just be happy to try to get into A dental school, focus on that first. Again, dont risk retaking and getting a lower score, your stats are competitive now.

you will get into some dental school, thats for sure... but Columbia might be a stretch (their average AA is like 22-ish). They are very DAT-friendly, from what I've seen, they favor it over GPA.

If i was you, I'd apply to 8+ schools.
