Hi guys,
I recently decided to pursue dentistry and while researching the pre-reqs requirements I see that a few schools listed this

* Prerequisite science courses must be taken within 5 years of applying.

I have actually taken a couple of those required classes before but back in ~2007 and now it is 2013. Does that mean I have to retake all those classes again even though I did well in them (A's and B's). How will my GPA be calculated? I really hope that's not the case. It will take me another year or so to complete my pre-reqs and I would hate to have to take them all again 🙁

You will get the most definitive answer from the ds in question. In general, it would likely depend whether or not you have been academically idle for the past 5 years, in which case, adcoms might wonder how ankylosed the cerebral cortex is.

You're better off calling the schools to get their professional opinion on it.
