Hello, I am a high school senior interested in attending dentistry school in the future.. For now I am still deciding which school for undergrad (most likely for now: community college, other options: Davis or UOP) but just out of curiosity, which dental schools are the ones which have a higher acceptance rate? -thanks

Never too young, I admire your maturity! most people in highschool are not too young to think 3 or 4 years ahead towards grad school, They are just not mature enough to do that yet...Good for you. I mean heck we as dental student think about our boards and where we're gonna practice, why can't someone in highschool think about his/her future

Look into UOP, they have a 5 year program, right out of high school to get your bachelors and your DDS. and a 7 year program to get your bachelors, DDS, and to become an orthodontist!!

All dental school are different...They look for different things an no-one can tell you which has a higher acceptance rate...your circumstance is different form another person, and you might be a fit for one school but not another! Try to do well in college, Don't slack off and keep your GPA as high as possible. Try to take good notes on your biology, chemistry, and ochem classes you will use them to Study for the DAT's if you have good notes!!

good luck!

Keep those grades high. That is Number one. Second is DAT score. Get a great score. From there add in extracurriculars and then hopefully you will be able to choose from a list of schools that accept you. I would try to get into a 4 year University rather than a CC, or at least transfer to a 4 year from a CC and take your major science credits at the university

Hey I am in highschool too. I am getting my AA from a community college at the same time I graduate. You are never too young to start thinking or pursuing your future life career. I think you shoud not go to a community college. State colleges are looked at as having higher and harder level of courses. The only reason I went to comm. college is because that is your only choice in highschool.
