Yeah. I'm curious. Anyone who can rock climb and still retain fine motor movements with their fingers?

Rock climbing is a rough sport so I don't think that it'll help your manual dexterity. There's also a chance that you'll injure your hands. Whenever I work out hard (arms), my hand gets tired and sometimes even trembles a little bit when I'm drilling.jk5177 said:786mine. I guess what I mean by fine motor movement is the same as manual dexterity. Or another way of phrasing my question is, will rock climbing help me with my wax up and all the hand things I need to do, or will I be worse off.

Practice drilling or any other similar activities such as painting, sculpturing...will improve your manual dexterity.

I want to do rock climbing. Before, I couldn't because of money and parental discretion, but now I couldn't because of my career.
NOOOOOOOOH. (Wailing again)

You're going to UCLA right? Do you have gear?
jk5177 said:I see. Fellow colleague who also climbs.
Too bad, I have no gear; however I've called Wooden Center and they seem to have an extensive capacity for bouldering.

Wrong. All the eye muscles, with two exceptions, are supplied by a single nerve, CN III.jk5177 said:I believe it has to do with the amount of nerves innervating separate muscles. For example, eye muscles are innervated by individual nerves, whereas the back muscle is grossly innervated by a few nerves. I need to check on this though.
The way you're posting today, I'd worry less about your hands' anatomy than your frontal lobe's.I'm wondering if I do rock climbing, or any general muscular movements with my hands, will the musculoskeletal anatomy of my hands might develop toward that function?

Fair enough. Check your PM box.jk5177 said:The way you've been replying makes me worry about your frontal lobe as well. Loss of kindness? Or perhaps an extra humor that I fail to understand?
