Hi, i got a chance to attend a couple of medical workshops this week. I don't have any experience about these workshops. Which workshop will benefit me as a pre-dental student and give experience in the field?

Suture Clinic
Surgical Knots
Airway Management
REACH Air Medicine
Ultrasound
Bleeding Control, Joint, and Long Bone Immobilization
Emergency Childbirth
Spinal Immobilization

Obviously not ultrasound, emergency childbirth, or spinal immobilization.

Suture clinic is probably most important, maybe surgical knots. Airway management and bleeding control are important in a medical crisis, but you should be calling 911 in that case anyway.

Hey! All of these courses sound great and I highly recommend attending. I thought I would share a Pre-Dental Summer Sim Course my dental school is putting on this summer. I really think it will be to your advantage! The first session is June 24-25th and the second one is July 8-9th (both weekends cover the same material).

The cost is $150, which I know seems expensive, but we cover A LOT! You will get first hand experience on drilling Class I Preps, Taking Impressions, and Waxing. I did the Sim course as a Pre-Dental student myself, and once I started Dental School I felt way more prepared and relaxed!

For those of you who have been accepted, this is a great chance to get a head start. For those still applying, it is another great thing to add to your list of dental experiences and talk about in future interviews. It truly is a great experience, and you will be able to network and familiarize yourself with the campus. You are now able to register on the Midwestern website.
