Hello International Dentist

I am currently an American Resident 😀

And I'm in the process of Applying to American Dental Schools 😀

Anyway (enough with the jokes), but what are my chances of going to dental school in places around the world (probably places where most of you guys are from - like Europe, India, South America, etc.)

A friend told me that in India - it's all corrupt, and you just pay some money under the table to become a Dentist! Is that true?

Also, I of course want to come back to the beautiful country of USA, so how easy/difficult would it be for me to do something like that?

Thank You!

hi i am an indian dentist.i know that its not like the way u described about our country.yeah ,its true that india is in these days in the bad hands of corrupt government but if u say that u can buy a professional seat ....no u can't and if u 'll able to then the institute would be such that u'll have no difference between a dentist and a cobbler...i guess.u can make out with the result of NBDE that indian dentist perform so well in here that they r beating even the american grads with their scores.so thatz how they have entered their collages after competing with a large population.we perform excellent in all the best professions of the world just becoz we became good professionals only after competing at all the levels of our academic carrers.
i hope this clears u off all the misinterpretions of our country.
and u would be able to decide for the dental school u wanna be in .
bye.
cheers.

this is the most pathetic crap I have ever read in this forum
First of all I didn't even understand your jokes, were you trying to make us laugh you dumb ass 😡
yeah, we can buy everything in india
how much will you pay to become a dentist??? How much do you have??
hahahahahah
So you are planning to become a Dentist by bribing somebody ?? huh
why don't you fvcking join the politics , because that's where you will be suitable, not a Dentist
Even if you become a Dentist, which I have doubts, what will you do?? try and buy patients??
Listen you *****, I advise you to stay where you are and do something to contribute to the society instead of trying some short cuts to get into a noble proffesion like Dentistry

to answer ure query,
INDIA IS NOT ALL CORRUPT..
u can get a seat in a dental college by paying 20 times the fees that the regular student pays .
it is possible in a few private colleges..
the reason why private colleges ahve a few seats for NRI quota cause the other tuition for the other seats is soo subsidised... with the amount u pay for dental education here.. if u paid the same in india.. they wouldnt be any need for NRI qouta seats...
but i feel its best if u stay here in ure BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY USA..
all the best in ure future endeavours..!!!

I think both sides have made their views amply clear and an apology has been made too. I request everyone not to write anything more on this thread. Lets just stop it here right now.

Thanks.

true,i agree with u!so both sides tried proving their points, well now put all those stuff behind & sign a peace-agreement!ok! treaty, folks! 👍

hey never read anything like this on sdn............
today was diff day...
i hope it never happens again.

not everyone here is from india.

of what you heard, some of it is probably true. you can probably buy your grades, and in certain places the diploma. i wouldnt recomend it because dentistry involves more hands on practice than an MD. i have heard of people purchasing their diploma, taking kaplan, and passing the usmle's. some later get dropped from residency for incompetency.

how difficult is it? well, lets just say if you are in an american dental school, you just need a 75+ on your boards and you will be a dentist. as a foreign dentist a 90 doesnt even guarentee admission to the 10-15 seats some universities have, and add 2-3 years of doing dental school again. and the wait can be long, as this boards topics dont refer to work, patients or techniques. the posts are all of 'getting in.'

take the DAT & leave it as a last resort. the back door isnt easy.

your post is not an insult, nor is it controversial.

just came to know that indians are so intellegent that people who can buy degree in india ,can pass usmle and even get residencies,i thinks american system needs to be changed or raise their level of education.esp for Indians.

I request all of you fro refraining from saying anything on this thread. Its really not necessary. Its only going to make the situation worse and not improve it.
