  1. Pre-Dental
Hello,
I have a question for current dentists.
In terms of doing dental procedures all day, do you get physical pain at the end of the day?
I have seen my own dentist and a few doctors I have shadowed still bending their backs to look into the patients' mouth, which I can only image does damage to the doctors' back and neck.
Are you worried about this problem, maybe not now but in the future?
I've read many articles that describe hundreds of retired dentists with terrible back/neck pain
thanks, just a curious pre-dent here

That is one of my concerns as well. I find it uncomfortable when I am not bending my back for a long period of time. I am ready to enter dental school and I am wondering how to correct this problem.
A different question (hope it fits here). I know that dentists use their eyes all the time and it's another physically straining aspect. What is the ideal vision range of dentists? I am nearsighted (~350) and my dentist strongly recommends me to get an appropriate pair of glasses.
thanks.

yeah its a tough racket physically..loupes help and you need to practice proper ergonomics while ur in school so u get used to working like that..sometimes though access and visualization is difficult so there is little u can do about those cases
