For anybody who will be applying to dental school in the future, I highly recommend attending the "Dentistry Today" program at the University of Maryland. It is a 3 day program in early June where professors from each specialty come in to talk to prospective applicants about their field and where they see the future of dentistry heading. There is also a lot of hands on practice for attendees (tooth waxings, head-simulators, shadowing 4th year students in clinic, etc.). It is also a great chance to tour the school, see the area of Baltimore and chat with the admissions staff. Even if you don't plan on applying to UMD, it is still a great opportunity!

How much did it cost?

oh yeah, forgot to mention that -- it's free
(you do have to pay for lodging and parking)

again, highly recommended for future applicants!
