Dental students, what books do you like to read for entertainment? What were some of your favourites in h.s., in college, and now in dental school?

In high school I was really into Sturdevant's Operative Dentistry and Pathways of the Pulp. 😀

OK, really. My favorite author when I was in highschool was Isaac Asimov. I still love the the Foundation books and will re-read them occasionally. I'm also a big fan of Tom Clancy.

Lately I have been reading a few Clive Cussler novels. His writing is cheesy, melodramatic, no literary style... but the guy can tell a story that will suck you right in. Pretty good stuff.

In high school I loved the work of Douglas Adams... I read all of the hitchhiker's books. I didn't do a lot of reading in college... i was too busy with college stuff...
But in between college and d-school I've been reading lots of thrillers and mysteries like Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, State of Fear, and The Historian (which I did not like at all)... but now i'm reading a politics book, The Persian Puzzle.

i didnt read any books in high school. i thought it was nerdy. but now i am reading great expectations, good book. i'll do count of monte christo soon. i wonder if i people in gradschools read some of the more serious, historical stuff... like

I'm a history guy especially the American Revolution, just read "Fouding Fathers" by Joseph J. Ellis, also read a two book series by Jeff Shaara on the Revolution...books were "Rise to Rebellion" and "A Glorious Cause", also 1776 by McCollough and since I hadn't read the Potters yet I've mowed through the first three. I read all of those probably in the last month or two while on rotation and bored at night.

Playboy. I read the articles.

Tolstoy
Hegel
Aristotle
Darwin
Dostoevsky

Just naming a few 😀
