I am a little worried that i am forgetting everything i learned during the Pre-clinical years (not necessary dental related courses but things like biochem, physio, micro, path and so on). I seriously fear of being asked a basic question and not being able to answer it. So i guess my question to you is, how well do dentists and students in late years retain the information taught in dental school?

Thanks

This is a broad question, but as dentists we learn the basic sciences so that we can better understand the clinical information we learn and use later. For example, most dentists arent going to know the coagulation factors/proteins (FXIII, vWF, thrombin...)despite learning them...but a good dentist will know the basics of blood clots and healing times following op, pharmaco impact on bleeding times, and so on.
