Deposits to multiple programs

Just interviewed at an IS DO program about a week ago. I was told 4-6 weeks for an admissions decision. I got an A yesterday from another program, so I know I'd have 30 days to put the deposit down. Is it common to put a deposit down for a school and then put a deposit down for another one down the line? I don't want to look disingenuous if I change my mind, but I also don't want to lose my spot if I'm waitlisted or R'd from my IS program.

Yes, it's very common. Think of it as insurance, and you'll make it back anyway when you're an attending.

Yes. In admissions this is standard procedure. You can only go to one medical school like you can only get married to one person at a time. Usually. 🙂

Just wait until closer to the deadline in case the other school gets you an answer sooner. But def place a deposit if you don’t have another acceptance by the deadline
