Anyone had to deal with this?
Or lost a significant other and felt like dying... For some people, it's extremely hard to put aside their emotions and keep working. Something like this require immediate actions or else the student would fall behind... and i feel like medication is the easy and efficient solution. Xanax + adderal till you forget about your loss.
But idk..

Xanax? How do you remember anything?

Depression is common in professional school. A lot of people go through it at some point during their education. Some people are very good at masking it, but believe me they're stressing out or are worried about something. OP, it's normal. You're normal. The educational experience is traumatic at times, but you have to find a way to cope. I found that keeping myself busy left me very little time to dwell on the bad times. Good luck.

There are support networks available at all schools. Go to the Office of Student Services, or the Dean's office and talk to them. Maybe they can help? Some time off? Arrange counseling, a mentor?

Contact disability services at your school. They will help to make sure you do not fall behind

I have a feeling that you are just asking for future event.

Dying is a part of our nature process. Duh? Right, let it sinks in.

We are racing toward death since birth. When we celebrate our birthdays, let's say 21st birthday. We are 21 years closer to death.
I don't want to be sound so cynical.

When your love ones are around, show them love and appreciation. When they are gone from the face of the earth, they are gone.
It's useless to feel depress and be unproductive.

Be strong in mental department and stay away from drugs if you can.

Would you cry when you burn off a newly brought candle-knowing that you had it brand new the day before?

No, the candle will eventually burn out and disappear.
