The issue here is: Eczematous dermatitis vs. Urticaria.
I understand eczematous dermatitis has a wide variety of etiologies -- I think 5:
-Type 1 HS (atopic dermatitis)
-Type 4 HS (allergic contact dermatitis)
-A non-immune-mediated mechanism I guess? (photo-eczematous dermatitis, primary irritant dermatitis, drug-related eczematous dermatitis)
So it's hard for me to get a Q where I just get shown pruritic erythematous lesions and am told that they came up after receiving Tx for tonsillitis, then have to distinguish between urticaria and eczematous dermatitis. What are some reliable ways of distinguishing these two disorders (e.g. nuances of lesions, clues in question stem, etiologies, location of lesion, etc.)?
@DermViser, maybe you could grace me with some wisdom.
