How hard is it getting a Mohs/Procedural fellowship training for someone who is applying as a non-US trained dermatologist?
Co'z in some countries such as the United Kingdom, there are only five skin surgical fellowships available for the whole country, with hundreds of applicants who apply per position.
Do you think if someone who gained a procedural fellowship outside the US can still work as a dermatologic surgeon in the US, or do you really have to be US-board certified to practise skin/cosmetic surgery in the US?
I think most derm surgeons in the UK have obtained their fellowships in the US, so I was thinking that it may be hard to get into but it is still possible? Do some fellowship programmes prefer non-US citizen applicants at all?
