Dermatopathology

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They can if they did their residency in Dermatology, but not if they did it in Pathology. Although you do spend part of your Dermpath fellowship doing Derm.

You can do quite a lot of derm rotations in a dermapth fellowship, but while it's a very valuable and interesting experience, it doesn't make you a dermatologist. (likewise, you don't become a pathologist, if you're a derm doing a dermath fellowship).

The classic what type of medicine can I practice if Im a xxx doctor. You know what guys and gals? Once you have a medical license, anything you damn well please is the proper answer.

The point is what WILL PEOPLE PAY YOU TO DO. As dermpath specialist there's no point in seeing patients because you will get vastly more money reading slides. (How long does it take to read a basal cell carinoma out vs. see the patient, listen to how their constipation is acting up again and then finally get around to biopsy it)

LADoc00, you are a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
