I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some advice. I just received my mcat score yesterday. I got 130/123/129/129, with verbal being my lowest with 123 (my GPA:3.6). I took the old mcat last year and got a 6 on the verbal. I focused on my studies mostlyon the verbal and psych/soc last year. although I did well on the psych/soc my verbal section did not improve at all. I put in a lot of effort within the 1 year and was able to improve my score (27 on old exam). I am trying to look for people who are in similar situation as me. English is not my first language and I am really concerned that even with more practice on my verbal I will not improve with another retake. is there anyway that adcoms will look at my situation or will I be screened out immediately? In either case, what would you recommend I do?

I am in course to apply this cycle. I would really love to go to school is NY, state school (but many schools have like cars score of 8 as 10th percentile on MSAR website), which is concerning for me. please let me know your thoughts orquestions if you need more information.

Fellow ESLer! You still got a very good overall score even with such a low CARS; the rest of your sections are way up their in percentile. If I were you, I wouldn't even think about retaking a 511 MCAT and would definitely apply this cycle (MD & maybe some DO as a backup). Explain somewhere in your application why your verbal is low and why it doesn't accurately reflect your critical reasoning skills. I wouldn't be surprised if a 123 got screened out at some top schools, but probably not for lower tier schools.

I Would not retake but I also would not limit myself to NY. You should be fine if you apply early and broadly (assuming everything else is good)
