Designating additional schools in Sept ?

Hi everyone,

Any thoughts on adding additional school designations at this moment of the cycle ?

I applied to 9 schools (but I would say about 3 of them are a reach..)

I applied to 9 schools too and just added another. If you're cool with the extra costs like I was, it's more peace of mind I guess.

I don't think it's a big deal that it's later in September, since by this point our AADSAS stuff is verified and we don't have to wait for all our stuff to get in.

May I ask what school you added? I am considering UCONN and Ohio (I am OOS).

I agree, the schools should be able to see the application immediately since they are verified and stuff.

Depends on the school. I've had adcoms tell me that before their listed deadline, they already have given most to all their seats away based on interview invites and actual interviews. But don't let that stop you, I also know someone who got in applying on the very last day so it's really whatever you feel like. Of course it's more of a gamble the later it gets, but even lottery jackpots have winners.

I added Minnesota. I'm at Minnesota for undergrad, but I'm an OOS resident. I think as long as the schools you apply to are OOS friendly, it could be worth the cost. I don't know about Ohio or UConn though.

Thank you for the feedback. I see your perspective, it doesn't hurt to add. Maybe I should just be more patient with the ones I've already applied 🙂
