I've read some older ports both here and on dental town about DFV's great customer service but it seems like in more recent threads their customer service has been hit or miss. Does anyone else feel like their service is taking a turn for the worse?

I had a question regarding my order for loupes and had called them up about it, spoke to two different people on the phone, neither of which was friendly or respectful. They just had the tone of voice of "What do you want?!?!?!" and "Alright, are you HAPPY NOW!?!?" Considering the amount of money being spent, I was expecting a bit more. I'm starting to think I should cancel my order and just go with Orascoptic.

Hmm, well that's unfortunate to hear since I just ordered loupes today from DFV... hopefully this was just a fluke =/

You should be calling directly, the regional sales manager of where you work or go to school. Isn't he/she the one who sold you the loupes in the first place?

I bought them at Yankee Dental and actually spoke and worked with three different people at the time since their booth was pretty busy.

I went to Yankee on Saturday. I actually worked with the same person twice. Called DFV the next week to ask them to ship them to my apt instead. They actually called me back 30 minutes later to tell me they'll do their best to have them sent out soon because I'm taking my NERB exam next week. I thought they were pretty nice overall and worked to accommodate me. Although YMMV.

I hate calling customer service for DFV. I guess a lot depends on your sales rep. as well..Who I'm personally not to happy with.

I tried Orascoptic too but I don't like the sales rep lady either.

They are all really nice when you are ordering but once you have a problem or need something changed, good luck trying to get someone to respond to you.

They seem to go on vacations all the time so they don't respond to emails/texts.

Clearly I'm frustrated with them. It's easy for them to take advantage of dental students because we need the loupes and there are so few options.

i've dealt directly with a DFV rep at my school, and he/she is particularly unpleasant, kind of a...jerk. though i dropped 900 for their loupes, i feel like the you are inconveniencing the rep every time you have a question / need adjustments / etc.

perhaps just a fluke though, just 1 perspective.

i thought the rep that comes to our school was pretty helpful. i had no problems adjusting my loupes or getting parts replaced so far.

Are you calling corporate customer service? Or are you calling your area-specific DFV rep? The DFV rep I worked with in school was awesome.

I haven't really had too many problems when I have worked with them and have found them to be helpful overall. The Surgitel rep is really on the ball at our school and is there like every week when we see the DFV rep a couple times a quarter but I think thats a large product of the fact that probably 3/4 of my class bought surgitel loupes. Too bad when they could have got the sweet Buddy Holly Frames 🙂
