Desomorphine (street name "krokodil")

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I remember reading about it maybe 2-3 years back. From what I remember, Russia had a big heroin crackdown and it was very hard to find, but they have OTC codeine products there. Some very quick and dirty chemistry extractions were able to produce the 'krokodil' from the OTC stuff.

Has anyone here seen evidence of this in your area? You'd have to be really, really far into addiction to even WANT to try something like this.

You are right about the depths of addiction required for this one. Drug addiction looks dirty and bleak to the outside observer but the druggie feels dirty and bleak when they sober. This is the antithesis of what a junkie wants which is permanent agony. Further if they gatorized themselves unknowingly they would likely be impenetrable to rehabilitation due to the unbearable reality of permanent disfigurement. Ok, then community pharmacy is really going to get UGLY.:barf: I believe there is now a drug that even a druggie wouldn't be willing to try. Luck that only 10% of imported drug gets yanked. Farmers keep those poppies growing please! And Washington quite clowning around and put the feds back on the job. They need to get the PSA out PRONTO!:scared:
