I'm going to hold on to two schools for the time being for safety's sake. Has anyone heard of problems getting a refund on that deposit from the schools? I know AAMC rules say its supposed to be refundable before May 15th. Anyone had a problem getting th refund before?

damn i gotta send mine in soon too...

but rules are rules so i dont see too much of a problem getting the money back. they just might take a while getting it back knowing some of these schools and how they long to take process things.

where did u hold your acceptances at?
and did u decline acceptances anywhere?

this is a good question.. I wonder if they literally just hold your check, as opposed to cashing it then having to re-issue another check if you decline acceptance later. I am going to send a deposit in today for an out-of-state school, knowing that if I get into my state school, I'll go there instead... but I feel awkward asking the school how they deal with refunds...

I think they cash your check and there are some schools that say it is non-refundable so check first.

as i understand it, it's AAMC policy that all of the fees have to be refundable by a certain date, to encourage more expeditious decisions. DO schools might be different, though.

actually now that Amy B said it.....

i actually do remember some of these allo schools saying it was non-refundable deposit....but i dont remember if there was a date next to it telling me when it was non refundable....

ill go check and come back later if im not too lazy 😉

Drama, I'm probably declining michigan state. too expensive.

the OSU deposit isnt refundable but its only $25. EVMS is refundable at $200. But $200 is a lot to not get back if something goes wrong. Anyone? Too bad this is pre-allo. The MS1's probably have a better idea about this issues

aww sad to see you leave msu mike....

but i only have one acceptance so until i get another one then i gotta prepare for years of debt 😉

yeah, that 65k/yr out of state budget is painful to look at. i DO think that the clinical education at msu is better than evms though. *sigh* money .
