Why is AgCl not right? Because Ag is a transition metal, won't it turn the solid into a blue color? Sorry, this is for the gen chem section

Ag is a transition metal but only has 1 oxidation state of +1
Cu is also a transition metal but has 2 possible oxidation states of +1 and +2.

Transitional metals cause coloration but i dont think they all cause a blue color.

so if has more oxidation states then it's more likely to turn the solid into a color?

Hey, I hope this helps. From what I understand, Ag does precipitate. However, it forms a WHITE prec., while Cu forms Blue.

oo. but what? we're supposed to know that?!
