Can anyone who have taken destroyer and the real DAT, especially those that got 22+TS comment on what they thought?

I am currently getting about 80% of genchem and 70% of ochem right on Destroyer. There are just so many things that you have not learned before on them that are just uuugh.

I heard that ochem is very similar to the real DAT, but I cannot imagine getting only 70% correct on the real DAT?!?!?!

So, what were your % corrects like when you first ran through destroyer? And what was the TS/section grade like on the real DAT?

When I first went through Destroyer, I didnt know anything, lol. But I kept reviewing the problems until I made sure I understood them.

I actually found the Destroyer orgo to be way harder than the real thing!

destroyer GC is harder (by far)

destroyer Orgo is comparable to real DAT (a little harder than DAT, but overall pretty comparable especially the reactions)

destroyer biology, for me personally, I didn't find it harder nor easier, it was just unrelated.... didn't find it helpful

destroyer QR (NOT MATH DESTROYER) is, unrelated to real DAT, I just don't like the QR here.

I mean, the destroyer product REALLY shines with its 2 chemistry sections, if you master those, you WILL do good.

I might just go through Biology once, or not at all and just focus and ap cliff's since everyone's comments is on how completely unrelated the destroyer Bio is.

Still ochem is worrying me. I am hoping to get a 23+ on that section at least. 😱

The reactions I see to be reasonable, but there are a lot of things such as the detail on UV and such that worries me a little.

How did you guys do on your first runthrough of destroyer orgo? and what might your marks for the real DAT's orgo be?

First time I ran through Destroyer... I think I got 73% on the biology, 61% on orgo and like 55% on the GC lol

I just noticed i had a typo saying topscore instead of destroyer in my opening post 😱

If i am only getting 80% and 70% on topscore I would be very sad :x

I would say that Destroyer has too many of the "exception to the rule" type of questions in Orgo. In the real DAT (at least my version), most of the rx's were straight forward. But it did have a few multiple steps rxs tho. (I fot a 23 in the ogo section)

The most useful things that I found in the Destroyer Orgo were the roadmaps. I would really focus on the roadmaps in that book. And understand why one rx go one way and another go the other way...(like, the reactant is a bulky base so it did this...or the nitro group is meta-directing and deactivating so this got added here kinda things) Because that's the level of details that they're asking for on the real DAT.

I was getting terrible scores in destroyer (17-20 range). But I found the actual DAT much easier. I had time to go over the sciences twice at the end of the first section.

If you can ace destroyer, you have a great shot at 22+ on the real thing. I got a 24 on the DAT, 24+ on all science sections. I actually went through destroyer a couple times. First i did a couple problems before i started reviewing, and found destroyer impossible (i also did bio on topscore #1 before started studying and panicked when i got a 15 thinking the DAT was gonna be impossible). Then i studied normally and then did all the achiever/topscore exams. I came back to destroyer and found it pretty fair and simple. The sections I found most useful for preparing for the real thing was Ochem and Bio. They are very great indicators of the real thing (especially ochem) and if you can do well on them you will certainly do well on the real thing. I remember a couple bio question that was similar to those i found in destroyer, plus you can never go through too many bio questions.

between achiever, destoryer, and topscore, if you look at all you got wrong and learn from them, and do the tests over and over again until you can go through and get 100% even if it means youre just memmorizing which answers are right and which are wrong, you will do VERY well on the DAT. Between the three of them, almost every (if not every) subject that showed up on my DAT was covered.

BTW, destroyer math is HORRRIIBBBLLLEEEE. The real math section was MUCH, MUUUUCHHH more difficult, or at least on my exam it was.

you didnt get 17-20 range becuase destroyer is a book of questions
