cliff book is really bad. i just went through it. many many mistakes! and the questions are very easy. they dont challenge you at all.
dat destroyer is very very good, hard questions that challenge you and the explanations are a lecture by themselves.

I agree with the above post.
There is a misconception as to the purpose of the destroyer, that it's only a book with hundreds of questions. Although that is one great component of the study guide, it is the comprehensive detailed review of all the topics that students are interested in. The key is to not understand why choice C is the correct answer. It is knowing why A,B,D and E are wrong. Once you understand all the correct and incorrect choices by reading the explanations in the solutions section, the material will seem that much more comprehensible and within reach.
    Best of Luck,

    I'm back!!!

Never used the Cliff's, so I don't have anything to say about it. :p

Used the DAT Destroyer, and it helped me out a lot in my DAT studies. Now, I'm pulling the book back out to review and practice some questions, thinking of retaking.

I looked over Cliffs DAT prep at a bookstore a few weeks ago and remember it being crap. The RC passages were literally 3 paragraphs long, there were multiple errors in the PAT section, and none of the science review looked even remotely helpful. Basically I see absolutely no reason to buy this book when there are better resources for you out there.

AGREE with all the previous posts, I just took anothe practice test. FIrst I was really frustrated when I got some wrong but when I looked at it in the answer explanation, the answer I picked was right but the letter assigned was wrong. There are also some question that have 2 questions for the same number.

However, the best part I am using the book for is two section, which is Keyholes and TFE. Everything else is stupid!!

    Just my $0.02.

    +1 for DAT Destroyer.

But don't depend on it to carry you through. Just like other supplemental tools, you only get what you put in. If you've got a strong work ethic and are determined to do well on the DAT, then the Destroyer is the way to go. Dr. Romano and Nancy will help you along the way as well.

DAT Destroyer works really well for me. I score 25 on GChem and 26 on OChem the second time I took DAT.

I would say there are few chapters in Dr. Jim's Organic Chemistry book really really helpful, better than the text book.
