How does the difficulty of the GChem problems in the book compare to the real thing? Does teh Destroyer cover all types of questions you would encounter on the real thing?

ive already taken the dat once, and used destroyer to study for it, but i did not use it enough i feel like. the gchem is pretty good compared to the real thing, the only thing i would say is dont get too grooved on using only destroyer. topscore isnt too bad, as well as the kaplan subject tests, just get used to timing yourself. i think that was my biggest problem, otherwise destroyer will suffice.

I thought Destroyer is a good prep. material for gchem, but the real dat didn't have as much and complicated problems. On my version of the test, there was a lot more conceptual questions. So, this time, I prepared myself by reading over the kaplan bb on gchem and going over destroyer once. Know how to do basic calculations, but you don't have to go in depth like the destroyer does.

My test was a 50/50 mix of conceptual and calculation based problems. The destroyer prepared me well and together with a solid background in chemistry I was able to do pretty well. I was very pleased with the Gchem in the destroyer.

I am planing on going to dental school and would like to prepare for the DAT. Is there anyone out there locally who is in the same boat and would like company to study? I am in the New york city area my email [email protected], only those serious should respond, thank you. God bless and good luck.

Okay, so apparently I just got 28/30 GChem questions right on the ADA Sample exam...which is a score 23. Is this a legitimate indication of how I will realistically do on the real thing? Seemed too easy....I've been getting about 25/30 right on Destroyer.

25/30 is good on Destroyer. But the timing would be unfair since they are mostly calculation problems that take a while. Some are conceptual.

25 out of 30 on destroyer is very good assuming that you knew each answer. However the Destroyer is designed as a study guide not a practice test so there are many question that have the answer as all of the above which you can guess. The important thing is understanding why they are all right or why they are not all right. Take an achiever and whatever you get there add a couple of points for the sciences.

For the most part, difficulty is about the same, but on the DAT I never had to do any major calculations like you do in the destroyer.

I felt destroyer was very worth it.
