When one atom donates its both electrons. This type of bond isn't ionic? It says coordinate covalent.
 
Check out the definition of ionic bond.
Ionic bond is when there is a complete transfer of the electrons from the less electronegative atom to the more electronegative atom.

But as for coordinate covalent bond is when the shared electron pair comes from the lone pair of one of the atoms in the molecule. =)

Thanks. I was confused because it only said donating electrons. Donating elecs to the electronegative atom. Didn't know donating could be used in covalent bonds cause mostly we use share the electrons. 🙂
