Consider the below equilbrium:
X[H2O]6++ + 4Cl- -> XCl4-- + 6H2O
If you add HCl which way will the equilibrium shift?
The book says it will shift to the right, but I thought that when you have the Common Ion Effect any addition of HCl would cause a shift to the left.
