i don't understand the explanation they give: " as a general guideline compounds that contain a group IA metal as well as NH4 will be soluble"

the answer is B: (NH4)3PO4

my problem is...i don't see an alkali metal (IA Metal) in that answer? Am I just ******ed...or are they missing something? Hydrogen isn't considered an alkali metal right?

its saying that either alkali metal salts or ammonia salts are completely soluble in water. its best if you memorize the solubility rules. basically anything that has NH4+ in it in water will never be a solid and anything that has an alkali metal as their cation will also never be a solid in water.
