I know a buuunch of ppl have asked about gchem destroyer #41 and i FINALLY just figured it out after weeks of going over destroyer gchem so i will share with yo guys my reasoning...
So the question tells us that Kw has decreased, Kw = [H+][OH-], so therefore if Kw is decreasing that means the concentrations of both H+ and OH- are decreasing so therefore the products (which are OH- + H3O+) are decreasing so we know that the reaction must be endothermic. If the heat symbol is on the left side of the reaction and we decrease the temperature then the concentrations of OH- and H3O+ on the products side are going to decrease in order to compensate and push the equillibrium to the left to favor the reactants (dH, H20, H20)...
hope that answers this question for everyone!!!
pretty nice question by destroyer its very very conceptual
