#46...does anyone know why hydrogen bonding would cause the solid-liquid line to be skewed to the left in a phase diagram of P vs T? I would think that it would skew to the right b/c of the higher temp. required to break the hydrogen bonds. Any help?
 
Water has extensive hydrogen bonding, and its S-L phase line is skewed to the left..but i thought that was due to the fact that ice is less dense than water.
 
Your reasoning seems similar to the explaination given in Destroyer. Can you explain to me HOW density makes this impact on the graph?
