Which statement is correct?

One of them was: When solid NH4NO3 is dissolved in water at 25 C, the solution temperature decreases. This reaction is endothermic.

This one is correct, but i wasn't sure of the reasoning.

"C is correct, since the solution got colder, heat was absorbed, and thus, the reaction is endothermic"

Are we supposed to know that the solution temperature decreases, or is that supposed to be a fact? If we are supposed to know that, then could someone explain that to me?

For example, if they put solution temperature increases, then would that be an incorrect statement, or would that first part be a fact?
