I don't understand how to use this ICE box method. In the solutions, they solve for x by doing 2x=1...I am assuming 2x refers to the change of the end product and the 1 represents the 1M of the product. Assuming these assumptions are correct, how do you know to put the two together? Is there a general formula I am forgetting? How come we aren't adding all the equilibrium things parts together (in this problem 4-x and 4-3x) and just looking at the product? Sorry if this is a lame question but any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

First u need to converte Moles to M. Then u need to place the
Initial concentration, Change and the equilibrium. We know than that at equilibrium 2 moles are formed therefore it's 1 M in molarity and the 2x in the equilibrium= to the concentration of 1 M therefore x= 0.5. Then u follow the chart. The chart is very clear and helpful. I really hope u will be able to understand that the change +2x= 1M. X= 0.5. the rest is very easy. Read Destroyer solution the best explanation ever. Good Luck.
