Q: The Ksp of Mg(OH)2 is 1.2*10^-11. In which solution would Mg(OH)2 be most soluble.
Answer choices: pure H20, 0.4M NaOH, 0.6M Ba(OH)2, 0.4M HBr, or 0.1M NH3

Thanks. I have a hard time thinking about this question.

I think the answer would be 0.4 M HBr
Mg(OH)2----> mg+2 + 2 OH -
So if you be able to remove product you can increase solubility. by adding
Acid you will remove OH- this cause the reaction to shift to the right! And HBr is the only acid in your choices.
Hope this help!
