On pg. 119 in the General Chemistry section of the DAT Destroyer, there is the following true/false problem:

32. Consider the below reaction:
2A + B ---> 3C
delta G = -1500 KJ

Answer choice (d) says the following:

(d) The equilibrium mixture will consist almost exclusively of C.

I know the reaction is spontaneous, and therefore thermodynamically favorable, but why will is (d) true?

I think you are overcomplicating it. If it's thermodynamically favorable by 1500KJ (massive), it is going to precede to C.

Well, if you know it is thermodynamically favorable and it is spontaneous, then the rxn will proceed forward. So, you will find most of the A and B turned into products, since they are favorable.

*plz correct me if I am wrong!

Yeah, I believe I was over complicating the problem. Thanks for helping me "turn on" the light in my head.

Pce guys 👍👍👍👍.
