I thought NH groups were deactivating? Why does N direct in this problem? help!

NH activates a ring due to the lone pairs. o/p director

the destroyer says that NH is a meta director though..

mines doesnt say meta director. and if it does then it's wrong. Major product is Cl in para position and minor product with Cl in ortho. Cl in ortho is minor due to sterics.

o i have it now. it' s because it's an amide and those ARE activating.
