Can someone please answer that why is this reaction a claisen reaction? I thought claisen reaction is when a c=c is formed? And how do we know that we have to assume two moles of the ester? We just have to memorize it or when ever we have ester, we have to assume two moles of it?😕

Yep assume 2 moles! Its not memory its understanding!

You dont need 2 moles, in theory all you need is 2 molecules. It is impossible to separate 2 molecules, so therefore you know that you are always going to have enough as needed.

Thank you for your answer. So you are saying this is a claisen reaction?
