why isnt the answer e....bc isnt d nonpolar as well?
 
Choice D is acetone which is polar.
(While it does contain two methyl groups it is certainly more polar that CCl4. Since hexane is TOTALLY non-polar, its best to use the most similar one as a solvent and as mentioned D is polar so CCl4 is the best solvent)
