isnt choice B a ketal. in the answer choice it says it is an acetal. plz clarify

It is acetal. acetal is a carbon bounded to two -OR groups. so it is acetal.

if you get acetal from aldehyde you will get R-CH-(OR)2 and if you get it from ketone its R-C-R' and two -OR'' bound to that carbon.
 
But, im pretty sure that if c is bonded to 2 OR, 1 R and 1 H is acetal, and if it is bonded to 2 OR and 2 R and no H, it is ketal. ummm, i mean that's how i got my perfect scores in biochem.
 
well that's not what it says in my text book. choice be can be made from ketone as suggested my previous reply..
