Hey Guys,

#33 on the Destroyer Ochem section is tripping me up. Why is the correct answer C? Is it because C has two chiral centers? But, doesn't D have two chiral centers also?

Hope you guys can clear my confusion.

Post which version of destroyer I'm looking at 2009 and I don't see that question.
 
my bad its august 2008....basically would a 1,2 dibromocyclopentane have two chiral centers?

hey man, i have the new edition and I can't find this question after skimming thru this version, so i don't know what the question is asking.

Could it do something with choice D being meso?

Yes choice D does have 2 chiral carbos atoms, but they're not diasteomers. You should notice the symmetry of the compound!
