Hey guys, according to the solution on Destroyer's Ochem #47, compounds with more conjugation, therefore stability, are more likely to have color, and have longer UV wavelength absorption. I do remember very slightly from my gchem courses that conjugated pi electrons will exhibit color the best, but I can't figure out why they will also absorb longer UV wavelengths. Can someone explain?
