Destroyer vs DAT Orgo section - how simiilar?

For those who already took the DAT and used DAT Destoyer and/or Orgo Chem Odyssey...

How does Destroyer Orgo Section compare to the DAT? if you can do the destroyer pretty easily, does that translate to a good DAT score?

How does Orgo Chem Oddysey (same company) compare to the DAT? if you can do the odyssey pretty easily, does that translate to a good DAT score?

Some people have preached that it is exactly what you need, while others have said it will set you up only for the basics.

The dat destroyer has a good variation of questions some that you may think u never saw before but they will help you if you can do the destroyer and i mean really do the destroyer problems you should be in good shape for the exam oddyssey as well is a good supplement..........the problems in the destroyer have reactions, properties of mechanisms spectro, and lab techniques so u have a good range of topics.......but u will need to really understand the solutions to those problems..........also compliment the dat destroyer with kaplan subject tests......i think those two sets of materials r the best to work with to give u a variety of problems from different sources if u can do good on those exams you should be good to go for ur exam.....best of luck 👍

if you master destroyer you will hit 20+ on organic
make sure you understand every problem and solution.

destroyer is harder, but great practice. If you want the best practice for the organic section, there is no better book than destroyer.

For organic, I couldn't agree more with doctorpete. I distinctly remember one of the questions being EXACTLY the same as one of the questions on Destroyer. I recommend going through every problem and every solution a few times. Also, make sure you go over every problem a few days before the test so all the concepts are fresh in your mind. Master destroyer and you will KILL the oc section of the test. Good luck mang

haha "mang" I havent heard that word in ages! Thanks guys for the input. I have heard so many differing opinions but at least there seems to be a trend: DAT DESTROYER = EXCELLENCE.

Organic on the actual test is SUUUUUUUUUUUPER easy. I couldnt believe how easy it was! The Destroyer is MUCH harder than the actual test, but it does an excellent job of preparing you for the DAT. I highly recommend it.

Hammered a 26 in orgo last week because of the destroyer. I laugh when people don't believe the hype, good luck to them. Destroyer is KEY!!!! 23 in gchem and bio too because of that book. Know it all!

I think they are pretty similar. The DAT is the same difficulty as most of the questions in Destroyer. I think Destroyer had a few questions that seemed to be trick questions though.
