Ok so my test is 2 weeks away and I'm starting to freak out b/c I'm answering the Destroyer questions and I can hardly get the questions right!!!! Like i'll do good in the first 40-60 questions but then I can't get any right? I'm freakin burned out from studying and have been forcing myself to sit down and study. my self confidence is going down the drain so I would appreciate it if you would let me know what you think about the destroyer? How hard was it for you and what did you get on the DAT when you took it? The destroyer is destroying my self confidence and brain :scared:! its not helping me destroy the DAT! please help by answering. I thank you... Happy New year to you all

I know there has to be someone who feels the same way! SDN please dont let me down! I'm just waiting here and seeing x people are viewing this post but no one answers. Come on guys just please tell me what you think.

im practically in the same situation as you. i have dat in a couple weeks and im working through destroyer right now. Getting all the answers right the first time through destroyer is nice but not necessary to benefit from it. instead im using it more as a study guide. when i miss a question i review the answer and make sure i understand WHY i missed it and what the solution is. I also review the answers for questions that i get right to make sure i have the concepts in order. I feel as though my biggest mistake was trying to tackle destroyer before i got all the chemistry stuff down cold. maybe go back through your notes / prep materials and learn/relearn the material and then give destroyer another shot if you have time. thats what i did and im going through it faster now and it feels more like a review rather than learning as i go. in any case the consenus is that the real dat is more forgiving in terms of difficulty than destroyer.

also i think almost everybody starts to feel a little burned out during the homestrech. just live in denial and pretend its not happening and it will all be over soon. good luck.

dude you picked the wrong time to start destroyer. destroyer questions are significantly harder than MOST dat questions. Dat may ask a question that only requires 2 or 3 steps of a 8 step destroyer problem. DOes that make sense? anyway confidence is everything so you may consider just doing those 40 or 60 you get right and try to salvage what confidence you have left anyway i would get about 90% correct out of every 30 or 40 questions depending on the section. I got a 23 on my TS. checkout my breakdown if you like there is more detail, and dentalworks has great study strategy i think in the stickies if this dat doesnt go well for you. GOOD LUCK and happy new year

Thanks you two! I'm still stressed the beep out. I guess i just have do them all and suck it up for 2 more weeks!

is there any rush to take the test now? are you applying this cycle? if yes, you're already extremely late for this cycle, so maybe the best plan of action is to wait for next cycle, in which case you have a whole lot more time to study. don't take the test if you aren't confident that you have the stuff down. take some time, prepare more, kill the DAT, and apply next cycle. good luck and happy new year!

Honestly you need to relax, if you are freaking out this bad, how will u be during the exam?
I only used the book for 2 weeks and that was right before my exam bc I ordered it at the last minute. I went through the chemistry two times; I would get a good amount wrong but I made it a point to learn what I got wrong with flashcards and/or rewriting that prob a couple times.
The DAT destroyer tends to over-prepare you which is a good thing. I ended up getting OC 21 GC 20 for the chemistry sections. If I had gotten the book sooner, I probably would have done even better.
